Explosions develop very fast. To fight an explosion efficiently, a very fast reaction is imperative: explosion detectors in most cases do have a response time of at most a few milliseconds.
In principle this response time can be reduced considerably, but the shorter the response time, the higher the sensitivity for external electrical disturbances.
Different disturbances
The sensitivity for electrical disturbances can be considerably diminished by the right electronic design and the use of shielded cables. Disturbances do however not necessarily originate from the cabling in the production environment: often the cause lies with the control unit's power supply and/or the earthing of the protection system in general.
Earth and power supply measurements: StuvEx finds the cause
In those cases where such disturbances could possibly cause problems, StuvEx can do the necessary measurements both on the power supply present and on the system's earthing. It will be analysed whether disturbances are present and which ones are present (such as the different harmonics), both the frequency and the amplitude.
You receive a detailed report with measuring results, their interpretation (are such disturbances acceptable) and possible recommendations.
