UV2 flame detector

The UV2 flame detector is a flame detector based on a UV bulb sensor. It detects light in the UV-C range between 185 and 260 nm and it is therefore insensitive to sunlight and common artificial light sources. The UV2 flame detector is well protected against influences of:

  • Direct or reflected sunlight.
  • Artificial lights such as fluorescent tube or glazed protected halogen lamps.
  • Chopped or moving hot body radiation from machines or exhausts.

Electrical welding arcs and flames of any kind (i.e. gas burners) and other source which are emitting in the 185 to 260 nm (i.e. naked halogen lamp) will be detected.

In order to avoid false alarms due to background radiation in the vicinity of the detector, a configurable (via DIPSwitches) number of detection pulses are requested to activate the alarm output. Vision impairment is detected via an IR light. Extensive dirt on the window will activate the failure output. The supply voltage of the UV bulb is also monitored. The UV2 detector will be used for open fires such as class B fires and for all kind of fire where the flames appear first.

PSD2 spark detector

The PSD2 is a spark detector in the infrared IR-A range. It is intended forfire protection systems of industrial process (pneumatic conveying ducts for example). The PSD2 detector reacts to all IR sources between 780 and 1100 nm. It must be installed in total darkness environment. The PSD2 detector is equipped with a test input in order to check the functioning of the detection cell.  Outputs are available for compatibility with PAGG control panels or with free potential contacts.
